Description:
In the performance of his/her duties, the assistant women's softball coach will be directly responsible to the head women's coach. Cooperates and works with the head coach in administering the total intercollegiate athletic program.
Qualifications:
1. Background experience: possess a working knowledge of all aspects of the respective sport
2. Personal experience demonstrating the following:
a. Committed Christian life
b. Sportsmanship toward opponents, officials, etc.
c. Ability to maintain poise and self-control
d. Interests in the personal, spiritual, and athletic development of college age students
General Expectations:
1. Personal relationship with Jesus, a vibrant Christian faith, and a commitment to Christian community; capable of sharing faith and engaging in conversations about Christ
2. Demonstrate Simpson University Values in the performance of all duties.
3. Maintain lifestyle in accordance with Simpson University Lifestyle Policy in Staff Handbook
4. Maintain the confidentiality of information, data and records
5. Properly exercise tact, diplomacy, discretion, and professional judgment

Essential Functions:
1. Communicate effectively the rules of the sport to the players
2. Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques in the sport
3. Assist the head coach in accumulating accurate records, player information and game statistics
4. Help with responsibility of equipment and uniform
5. Exhibit regular attendance at all team meetings, practices, and games
6. Help emphasize proper safety procedures in training for the sport and keep abreast of injury procedures
7. Help administer the athletic study halls
8. Accept other responsibilities as deemed necessary by Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics
