Scope:Trane is seeking a dynamic and results-driven dedicated Industrial Business Development Manager to join the industrial sales team. This role will focus primarily on developing industrial sales performance across Trane commercial sales offices (CSOs) in assigned regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical solutions expertise to proactively identify and drive sales growth with the Trane Commercial Sales Office (CSO), selecting and successfully applying the correct Trane and third-party products to create solutions which address key industrial market verticals. This role requires a strong engineering acumen and experience with industrial procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans by assigned regions to expand the industrial sales pipeline and accelerate industrial market growth via partnership with Trane CSOs.

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities by researching and analyzing market trends, customer needs, account coverage plans, and competitor activities.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting industrial customer and Trane sales office relationships by understanding technical requirements and providing the appropriate equipment solutions.

  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions for existing accounts, potential customers, and Trane commercial sales office personnel.

  • Collaborate with commercial, technical and operational support teams to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns.

  • Provide feedback to sales and product management on customer needs and market trends to support continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Proactively identify, develop and source solutions to meet customer needs utilizing both Trane Technologies products and sourcing outside products where required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related physical science discipline from an accredited university is required.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial equipment sales; background in temperature control equipment such as chillers or other adjacent products (process temperature control, refrigeration, etc.) preferred.

  • Strong technical acumen in industrial process applications and equipment, and commercial expertise in sales processes with multistep channels.

  • Proven track record of both existing industrial customer growth and new industrial customer acquisition with target setting and attainment.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of being resourceful and innovative to solve customer problems.

  • Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools (Tableau or equivalent).

  • Willingness to travel 50% or greater as required within the assigned territory. Ideally located near a major airport.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
