Job description

Job Description LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Training & Workforce Development Specialist to support training programs for a state regulatory agency in Springfield, IL. This role develops training materials, coordinates learning activities, assists with training delivery, tracks progress, and helps improve workforce development efforts. The specialist will help ensure employees receive consistent and effective training related to agency processes and requirements.

What You Will Do Develop and maintain training materials including guides, manuals, presentations, and job aids aligned to agency processes and regulatory requirements Coordinate and schedule training sessions, workshops, and learning activities across internal teams Assist with training delivery in both in-person and virtual formats Track employee training progress, completion, and compliance through learning management systems or tracking tools Evaluate training needs through assessments, feedback, and performance data to identify gaps and improvement opportunities Support onboarding and ongoing professional development programs Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, current, and aligned with policy and procedural changes Assist with program coordination and reporting on workforce development initiatives Recommend improvements to training processes, tools, and delivery methods Required Qualifications Experience developing training materials and coordinating workforce development or learning programs Experience delivering training in classroom, virtual, or blended learning environments Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical or procedural content into clear training materials Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting training programs in a government or regulatory agency environment Experience with learning management systems (LMS) or training tracking platforms Familiarity with instructional design principles or adult learning theory Experience conducting training needs assessments and program evaluations Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), ATD certification, or similar credential The base range for this contract position is $45 - $65 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
