Role Summary

This is a paid-training internship program for graduates of Automotive Technician programs or relevant experience, at a participating college with Rivian instructors. 24-weeks, 40 hours per week with overtime and benefit eligible and full-time placement upon successful completion.
Our Rivian Technical Trades Program is a pathway to grow our Field Service Team and work towards keeping the world adventurous forever. In joining the journey to become a Rivian Field Service Technician, you will learn the fundamental skills to be successful in a high-paced and technologically driven environment. During the program, you will obtain hands-on training at a Rivian Service center and receive exclusive instructional guidance in a classroom setting. The program is designed to provide our students with the necessary tools to develop a successful career in the world of Electric Vehicles. Upon successfully completing our 24 week program, you will receive a certificate and the opportunity to join the Rivian Field Service Team.



Responsibilities
  • Maintain enrollment throughout the 24-week program
  • Complete a minimum of 40hrs per week: combined time between class sessions and on-the-job training, 5-6 days a week, depending upon business needs.
  • 90% attendance of all class sessions, lab activities, on-site training, and any additional scheduled activities.
  • Complete all required exams and lab assignments by receiving a passing grade of 80% or higher
  • Assist Rivian Service Technicians with general repairs, mobile repairs, and any additional tasks requested from the service team.
  • Improve efficiency in service procedures without compromising the quality and safety of the repair 
  • Complete all Course Curricula Objectives 
  • Demonstrate Rivian’s Compass Principles Daily: Ask Why, Stay Open, Build Together, Zoom Out, Over Deliver

Qualifications
  • Automotive Technology Degree, Certificate or equivalent 1+ years of work experience in an automotive repair role, required.
  • Willingness to relocate upon successful completion of the program for full-time placement at a Rivian Service Center.
  • Basic Knowledge of Electrical Systems 
  • Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting up to 2 or more hours at a time, standing for up to 8 or more hours a day, walking, bending, kneeling, laying, twisting, carrying, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs).
  • Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners
  • Required to, communicate using telephone, email, text or via messaging applications
  • Ability to utilize web base programs in the Google Workspace like Google Docs, Gmail, Google Sheets.
  • No drug or alcohol-related driving incidents in the last 3 years 
  • No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years 
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence
  • Will be subject to and must pass continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring 
  • Must be able to relocate to any of our markets across the United States after program completion and have flexibility with work schedule (AM shift, PM shift, weekends, and possible holidays)
  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 30% but up to 50% to our Normal facility or other Service Centers 

Pay Disclosure

The salary range for this role is USD $24.00-$24.00 per hour for; Seattle, WA, Atlanta, GA, Allen, TX, Chicago, IL, Sacramento, CA and Winston-Salem, NC based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
