Job title:                       Training Maintenance Supervisor

Division/Department:      Pork

Location:                          Ottumwa, IA

Type of position:             Full-time

 

 

General Description:

  • Trains employees on Safety Procedures including, but limited to Lock Out/Tag Out, Power Industrial Truck, Scissor Lift, Harness/Fall Protection, etc. 
  • Management of the Alchemy Training Program. Includes implementation through execution.
  • Safety background desired.
  • Track and document that team members are receiving required time in training program. Give feedback to management team if not meeting requirements.
  • Provide timely feedback to team members on progression through training.
  • Spend time in plant verifying team members with hands-on training and comprehension.
  • Continual development of training curriculum specific to plant needs
  • Document and maintain training records
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written in English
  • Goal oriented and possess root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to lead people toward achieving personal and plant results.
  • assist HR with maintaining accurate pay for hourly
  • Job postings and keeping accurate records of placement
  • Coordinates maintenance employee’s responsibilities and oversees the mechanical of equipment.
  • Responsible for correcting or facilitating correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.
  • Processes maintenance downtime report for corporate and plant management. Assigns work orders or special projects to maintenance employees
  • Maintains department budget within specified guidelines.
  • Conducts preoperational inspection and handles maintenance concerns of Production Supervisors to make sure operation begins as scheduled.
  • Reviews maintenance purchase requisitions and submits for approval.
  • Provides technical, mechanical, and/or electrical assistance throughout shift.
  • Delegates training procedures to maintenance employees.
  • Tends to other duties as needed.
  • Direct pdm workforce and schedule pm’s with mechanics.
  • Analyze data collected by employees and get correct information to maintenance managers so follow-up repairs can be performed in a timely manner.
  • Be willing to receive further training to have the knowledge to analyze data. This training can be from third parties, online or internal sources.
  • Maintain budgets and improve processes used to maintain equipment to the highest level possible.
  • Ensure safety of all employees.
  • Ensure inventory levels are adequate for parts and materials needed to keep lubrication routes and repairs can be done in a timely manner.
  • Monitor attendance and schedule vacations of direct reports.
  • Other duties assigned

 

Required skills:

  • Be able to communicate verbally and in written form in English
  • Ability to perform general mathematical calculations.
  • Mechanical inclination and knowledge of job specifications.
  • Industrial construction experience beneficial.
  • Previous hourly maintenance and supervisor experience needed.
  • Good attendance record (Less than 3 points, for internal candidates)

 

Education Requirements (if applicable):

  • Technical schooling with mechanical or electrical emphasis helpful.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
