Training Partner information

How does a training partner typically collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop effective training programs?

Training Partners often work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders to ensure that training programs align with organizational goals and meet learners’ needs. Effective communication and project management skills are essential, as Training Partners must balance input from various departments while maintaining timelines and quality standards. Building strong relationships with SMEs and stakeholders can also open up opportunities for professional growth and more strategic involvement in organizational development initiatives.

Butcher Power Products (BPP) designs and manufactures mission-critical and industrial power solutions for essential infrastructure nationwide. Headquartered in Sacramento, CA, our teams collaborate closely across engineering, manufacturing, and operations to build reliable, high-quality systems and take pride in delivering work that truly matters.

Position Summary

Butcher Power Products is experiencing significant growth and is establishing its first formal Training Department to support workforce readiness, operational excellence, employee development, and long-term growth.Today, training is primarily delivered through on-the-job experience, departmental knowledge transfer, and informal coaching. We are looking for a Training Manager to help build a more structured and scalable approach that improves new hire readiness, promotion readiness, frontline supervisor capability, safety performance, quality outcomes, and overall workforce effectiveness.

Working alongside operational leaders, HR leadership, subject matter experts, and external consulting partners, you will help design, implement, improve, and scale a hands-on training program tailored specifically to BPP's workforce, culture, and operational environment.

This role is an opportunity to build something meaningful. While we intend to leverage proven concepts and best practices from established organizations, the Training Manager will help create a workforce development program designed specifically for Butcher Power Products.

You will report to the VP of HR & Talent and partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, Recruiting, and HR leaders across the business.

What You Will Do

  • 5+ years of training, workforce development, learning, or operational training experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing training initiatives or programs.
  • Experience developing and implementing training programs in manufacturing, industrial, technical, or operational environments.

Preferred
  • Experience supporting a high-growth manufacturing organization.
  • Experience standing up a training function or leading a major training transformation.
  • Experience developing frontline supervisors and leadership programs.
  • Experience working with external consultants and training partners.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
A Note on the Role

This is a build-and-scale role. BPP is establishing its first formal Training Department and workforce readiness program. While we intend to leverage proven concepts, frameworks, and best practices from established organizations, we are building a training model specifically designed for BPP's workforce, culture, operational environment, and growth plans.

The initial focus will be creating hands-on training programs that improve new hire readiness, promotion readiness, frontline supervisor capability, safety performance, quality outcomes, and overall workforce effectiveness. Success in this role requires a combination of strategic thinking, practical implementation, relationship building, and continuous improvement.

As BPP continues to grow, so will the Training function. We plan to grow from 150 to 600+ headcount, over the next two years. This role presents a unique opportunity to help build the systems, programs, and team that will support the company's long-term workforce development strategy.
