DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successful candidate will lead Aligned's training and development program for data center system operations. The candidate will develop new training materials for a wide range of equipment and systems, including:

  • Low to high voltage electrical equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, switch boards, variable speed drives)
  • Electrical distribution systems and control instruments
  • UPS and Distribution Systems
  • Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment
  • Motors, pumps, and fans
  • Control equipment such as relays, programmable logic controllers, digital controllers, and human machine interfaces
  • Fluid systems (air and water)
  • Chemical treatment systems and equipment
  • Safety topics consistent with local standards.
  • Operation's onboarding program:
    • Site orientation
    • Policies and procedures
    • Customer support
    • Employee safety
    • Maintenance management
    • Alarm and control systems
    • Security access and control
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with Operation's leadership team to develop effective training programs to:
  • Increase proficiency of data center operators for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and operations of critical equipment and systems.
  • Qualify Operation's personnel to safely operate critical equipment and systems.
  • Provide simulated and actual drills to enhance overall incident handling capabilities of Operations Team.
  • Standardize the onboarding of Operation's personnel.
  • Ensure minimum safety standards for all personnel.

The successful candidate will be required to spend a significant portion of their time writing, so writing proficiency will be a critical aspect of our selection process. At the start of this job, the candidate will spend time reviewing existing training materials, job responsibilities, and identifying their own training needs and gaps.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with the ability to cross-learn topics from other disciplines such as mechanical and process controls.
  • Must also be a skilled communicator using various modes, including writing, verbal, and presentations.
  • Prepare training materials for equipment and systems by locating and studying technical manuals, drawings, system descriptions, or other references.
  • Prepare training materials for various modes of training, including web based, instructor led, on-the-job, self-study, and laboratory exercises.
  • Present instructor-led training for complex technical topics.
  • Meet new people and gain trust through face-to-face interactions and interviews.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must display original thinking and creativity and excel at meeting challenges with resourcefulness and innovative ideas. Must enjoy working with teams in a fast paced, energetic environment.
  • Ideally candidate will work at one of Aligned's data center location.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel to locations in the United States up to 25%. Some travel may be required on weekends and evenings.
