Job description

While working in a safe, effective manner, keeping quality in mind at all times, working in a cooperative team environment to supervise all functions related to manufacturing process. Ensure that all work procedures and practices are consistently upheld to ensure production, quality, and food safety. Considers food safety and consumer safety while preforming work. Participates in GMP and food safety training. Follows GMP policy. Reports all food safety concerns with urgency. Will make decisions regarding quality discipline and training, along with managers and supervisor. Must ensure that quality complaints are tracked accurately, and controls are put in place to prevent future occurrences.

**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

**

  • Development, implementation and administration of quality policies and procedures to all employees.
  • Establish and perform quality training programs for all employees.
  • Perform corrective actions with the support of the Production Manager and HR Manager to ensure all quality and production policies and procedures are met and followed.
  • Perform sanitation and quality control audits throughout the plant, report findings to Plant Manager, HR Manager, Shipping Manager and Production Managers and take corrective action.
  • Maintain up to date inspection reports, files, quality programs and samples.
  • Organize and conduct quality committees for all employees.
  • Implement and maintain company Pest Control Program, GFSI / SQF Program and other programs to meet customer requirements.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System, including food safety fundamentals outlined in the SQF Code, 7.2.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System.
  • Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System.
  • Facilitate customer questions by establishing customer relationships and working with corporate customer service.
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and report process data to internal and external customers.
  • Facilitate and assist support departments with technical expertise for process improvements, and environmental compliance. (Ink making, paste making, and graphics)
  • Lead Continuous Improvement reporting, activities, and training within the plant.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

**

  1. Follows all Company rules and guidelines.
  2. Frequent contact with employees throughout the plant, corporate support managers and key customers. Occasional contact with outside auditors, regulatory representatives, and vendors.
  3. Avoid unsafe practices or carelessness. Follow all Company safety rules and policies. Follow all safety rule specific to each machine and/or department.
  4. Cooperate with fellow employees.
  5. Is waste conscious of efforts and materials at all times.
  6. Attempts to achieve quality product.

**QUALIFICATIONS

**

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of quality control management experience in a manufacturing environment, or relevant working experience is required.
  • If qualified, could move to another position in the plant.
  • This position must be able to make decisions concerning quality issues. Will make decisions regarding quality discipline and training, along with managers/supervisors, and per union contract. Must ensure that quality complaints are tracked accurately and that controls are put in place to prevent future occurrences.
  • Errors at this level may result in employees producing bad product in an untimely or unsafe manner. These errors can result in customer complaints and ultimately result in loss of business.
