Job description

Overview
The Workforce Development organization is seeking a motivated individual to join the Design & Engineering (D&E) Skills and Training Development team, supporting all D&E workforce development initiatives. Electric Boat is committed to equipping Designers and Engineers with the technical capabilities needed to excel across all phases of the design and shipbuilding lifecycle. If you are passionate about people development, strategic knowledge retention, and large-scale program implementation, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant organizational impact.
Reporting to the Chief of Training for D&E, this position will directly contribute to the growth, effectiveness, and future readiness of the D&E organization.
The successful candidate will partner with teams and leaders across EB to assess organizational needs, develop strategies for skills advancement, and execute training and development programs that enable long-term success.
This role requires a highly motivated self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and project management abilities. Key responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with D&E supervisors and managers to identify critical skills required for current and future work
    • Engage subject matter experts to collect technical insights on skill requirements across programs
    • Partner with the curriculum development team to guide high-quality program creation and determine optimal delivery methods
    • Maintain regular communication with D&E leadership, providing updates, feedback, and recommended actions to support continuous development

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1+ year of experience in Engineering or Design
  • Professional experience coordinating or supporting cross-functional projects or programs
  • Professional experience using feedback or data to identify opportunities for and support program improvements

Preferred:
  • Experience in Process Improvement or Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience presenting to all levels of personnel, including senior management
