Job description

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinates training programs related to employee development and supervisory skills development. Serves as moderator and lead presenter for campus-wide programs both online and in-person. Serves as a presenter for related content when necessary.
  • Designs training programs using internal and external resources as appropriate, stays abreast of new trends and tools in employee development, and uses accepted education principles and tracks new training methods and techniques.
  • Develops and/or conducts training for all levels of employees within the university (front-line employees, supervisors, and leadership).
  • Coordinates the development of engaging online resources and training content that use videos, tutorials, infographics, polls, virtual collaboration whiteboards, and/or other interactive content delivery tools.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training and development programs, and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes to training content, objectives, and methods; creates various reports as necessary.
  • Develops fluency with registration systems to assist in maintenance of curriculum database and training records.
  • Chooses appropriate methods for delivery of training (simulations, online, mentoring/coaching, on-the-job training, professional development classes, etc.)
  • Designs and/or oversees the production of educational aids/materials.
  • Conducts needs assessment and identifies skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Assists with the development of departmental or campus training goals, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Provides train-the-trainer support to build the training capacity of subject-matter experts.
  • Supervises student interns and extra help personnel in support of training development and execution activities.
