Job description

The Organizational Development (OD) Training Specialist will learn, plan, develop, implement and evaluate development sessions for teams across the Network. The OD Training Specialist can expect to facilitate four to five in-person sessions per week at any Network location.
The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts in-person soft skill related training for groups and teams across the Network; demonstrates flexibility to travel to any Network location to facilitate in-person training events.

  • Confident and charismatic facilitation style with ability to adapt to audiences at various levels.

  • Demonstrates competency in core department curriculum; identifies and recommends adjustments, updates and enhancements to curriculum based upon direct observation, research and industry trends.

  • Researches, creates and adapts original and visually compelling training materials as directed; proficient in creative visual tools like PowerPoint and Canva.

  • Primary owner of regularly scheduled virtual sessions for general audiences.

  • Assists in administration of assessments and the collection of results and materials for scheduled events; monitors incoming departmental requests via ticket and email.

  • Suggests and creates relevant content for bimonthly department newsletter.

  • Collaborates with OD consultants regarding core curriculum updates and enhancements; shadows consultant retreats and events for development.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.

  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.

  • Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).

  • Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes, and practices.

  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code. Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists with various projects as assigned.

  • Actively seeks opportunities for professional growth and development, such as obtaining relevant certifications.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sit up to 4 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 4 hours per day; 2 hours at a time. Walk 4 hours per day; 30 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10 pounds. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates normal conversation and high/low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision.

The OD Training Specialist will be skilled in oral and written communication, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing, planning, organizing and project management. The OD Training Specialist will be extremely skilled in in person facilitation, with the ability to translate findings of needs assessments into actionable next steps.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in human resources/organizational development, education or related field required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) plus years of experience in the field of human resources/organizational development, education or training required. Experience in a formal classroom setting or equivalent professional training environment required. Excellent facilitation/speaking skills and understanding of training methodology required.
