Position Summary

The Executive Director of Talent and Development leads all aspects of talent management, team development, and training at Chick-fil-A Hays. Partnering closely with leadership, this leader attracts, equips, and retains exceptional talent while cultivating a culture rooted mission of leaving a legacy of impact through daily excellence. Through intentional recruitment, onboarding, and growth initiatives, this Director ensures every team member is thoroughly trained to be equipped for success, empowered to thrive, contribute meaningfully, and deliver remarkable guest experiences that reflect the heart of Chick-fil-A Hays.

Culture & Team Engagement

  • Lead initiatives that enhance team member experience, including birthdays, anniversaries, recognition, and engagement activities.
  • Serve as a culture champion, modeling and reinforcing Chick-fil-A Hay’s vision, values, and culture in every interaction.
  • Implement strategies to create a first-class work environment where team members feel cared for, valued, and empowered.

Training & Development

  • Design, deliver, and monitor training programs for new hires and current team members.
  • Evaluate trainers and training effectiveness, ensuring ongoing compliance with Pathway training and operational standards.
  • Lead leadership development initiatives, coaching future leaders and building a pipeline of high-performing talent.

Performance & Retention

  • Track team member progress, performance, and retention through structured check-ins, reviews, and feedback processes.
  • Partner with leadership to implement strategies that improve team satisfaction and reduce turnover.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies, disciplinary processes, and recognition programs.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead recruiting efforts, including scheduling and conducting interviews, hiring, and onboarding new team members.
  • Ensure all new hires are trained on Chick-fil-A standards, Core 4, and Winning Hearts Everyday (WHED) principles.
  • Partner with Leadership to maintain accurate records, policies, and compliance throughout the employee lifecycle.

Operational Support

  • Support FOH and BOH leadership to maintain operational excellence, including cleanliness, hospitality, and workflow efficiency.
  • Must be willing to work in Operations alongside team members as business needs require.
  • Monitor and coach team members and leaders on performance, guest experience, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify training gaps, process improvements, and opportunities to enhance team performance.

Communication & Administration

  • Support internal communication strategies to keep team members informed, motivated, and aligned with restaurant goals.
  • Maintain organized administrative and HR records, reports, and systems related to training, onboarding, and team development.
  • Facilitate leadership and team meetings to align goals, track progress, and reinforce culture initiatives.

Additional Expectations

  • Demonstrates flexibility by performing other duties as assigned to support operations and team success.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Maintains consistent and reliable attendance with dependable transportation.
  • Upholds Chick-fil-A Hays’ standards of excellence, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions.
