Job description

As an Associate Manager, Product Development at Epicor, you will be a hands-on technical leader who designs and delivers innovative software solutions while guiding a small team of developers. You will help architect scalable systems, solve complex technical challenges, support engineering excellence, and ensure successful delivery of features from planning through release and ongoing support. We are seeking applicants with strong technical expertise, a collaborative leadership approach, and the ability to balance business priorities with long-term product health.
What you will be doing
  • Architect, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions that align with business goals, technical standards, and long-term product strategy.
  • Lead a small team of developers through coaching, mentoring, onboarding, career development, and ongoing team support.
  • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, technical guidance, testing practices, developer tooling, and development standards.
  • Partner with Product Management, Quality Assurance, and engineering teams to plan, estimate, prioritize, and coordinate delivery of new features and enhancements.
  • Own team execution by breaking down complex initiatives, removing blockers, managing technical risks, and supporting successful releases and post-release activities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and clear communication across the team and broader organization.
What you will likely bring
  • 5+ years' experience in full-stack software development using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience building applications with React.js (preferred), Angular, or Vue, along with Node.js and REST API frameworks such as Express or Fastify.
  • Strong SQL knowledge, including query design, performance optimization, database migrations, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Docker, Redis, event-driven architectures, background job processing, and queuing concepts.
  • Proven ability to design scalable solutions, navigate ambiguity, solve complex technical challenges, and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills with experience helping engineers grow through coaching, feedback, and technical leadership.

  • Previous experience serving as a team lead, technical lead, people manager, or mentor for a software development team.
  • Experience leading sprint planning, retrospectives, estimation, onboarding initiatives, and process improvement efforts.
  • Strong understanding of security analysis, permissioning models, and scalable distributed system design.
  • Experience with modern development technologies and patterns such as Redux, MobX, Zustand, Zod, Tailwind, SASS, sockets, Redis, AWS Lambda, Amazon SQS, RabbitMQ, or similar tools.
  • Experience developing AI pipelines, AI-powered endpoints, or agent-supported architectures.
