Job description

Job Summary:

The Training and Development Manager is a hands on individual contributor role responsible for the strategy, coordination, and oversight of training programs and employee development across American Battery Solutions (ABS), with a strong focus on supporting operational effectiveness and workforce development within the manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in aligning training and development initiatives with organizational goals by identifying organizational training needs and implementing scalable solutions.

The Training and Development Manager will provide corporate-level oversight of the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring consistent delivery, tracking, and compliance across all locations. Serving as a central resource for learning and development, the Training and Development Manager helps drive a culture of continuous improvement by standardizing training and development practices throughout ABS.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with company leadership and Human Resources (HR) to assess training and develop needs with targeted learning programs to support onboarding, compliance, environmental health and safety (EHS), and overall skill development.
  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of ABS’s LMS, ensuring proper tracking, reporting, and accessibility of training content.
  • Design, deliver, and manage training and development solutions in support of both site-specific operational needs and enterprise-wide development goals.
  • Leads the identification, procurement, and development of effective training and development solutions to meet business needs utilizing a variety of mediums such as in person or video facilitation, and LMS technology.
  • Develop and maintain LMS training curriculums, including building training profiles based on position title or job classification.
  • Possess a solid understanding of ISO/IATF training requirements and works collaboratively with leadership across all facilities to ensure requirements are met. This includes taking the lead to support quality and other organizational audits.
  • Perform training needs and gap assessments.
  • Support employee and leadership development training needs.
  • Maintains required documents for compliance and training needs.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional-level Human Resources, Training, and/or Organizational Development experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional-level experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in electronic LMS, preferably Cornerstone.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior experience in the Battery or Energy industry preferred.
