Position: Business Development & Client Relationship Manager

Salary Range: $100-$110k plus 15-25% bonus

Location: Dallas, TX


Overview:

Join a multi-disciplined forensic engineering and architecture firm headquartered in Denver, Colorado with additional offices in Dallas, Texas, and Phoenix, Arizona. We provide forensic engineering, architectural consulting, expert witness, construction quality assurance, and cost consulting services to the insurance industry, law firms, contractors, and commercial/residential property owners.


We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development and Client Relationship Manager to lead the development of new business and management of client relationships across our verticals. Working in collaboration with the Chief Business Officer and Director of Client Services, you will be responsible for promoting the capabilities of the firm, managing current and future client relationships, generating opportunities, and closing new sales. A successful Business Development and Client Relationship Manager will be expected to be a professional, well-organized, and driven individual who excels at understanding and communicating technical concepts, while delivering exceptional customer service and achieving target sales goals.


The ideal candidate will be familiar with Account Management and Sales in a professional services organization, with a strong acumen for articulating value propositions and communicating the differentiating factors that our firm offers over our competitors. As a self-starter, you will be expected to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with a natural ability to engage with prospects and existing clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong desire to understand and learn the services provided by forensic engineering and architectural firms, and how these relate to our clients’ individual needs. First-hand experience in the property management, insurance, construction, restoration, architecture, or engineering fields would be a significant benefit.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to quickly grasp the nature of engineering and architectural professional services and how these relate to clients’ needs.
  • Plan and develop a customer engagement strategy to be approved by a supervisor to identify and engage with current and future customers, to include:
  • Monthly Marketing & Activities Plan
  • Pipeline-Add Goals
  • Annual Sales Goals
  • Perform customer engagement activities, which may include:
  • One-on-one meetings with targeted current and future customers.
  • Unannounced drop-ins at client offices and work locations, for the delivery of company promotional collateral along with snacks, e.g., donuts, cookies, etc.
  • Plan schedule and conduct company promotional events, including client learning sessions and client entertainment events, including dinners, happy hours, etc.
  • Develop sales presentations in PowerPoint describing our engineering and architectural professional services tailored specifically to each client, on the specific needs of each project.
  • Upon being trained, adhere to the sales qualification process to effectively sell projects and meet identified sales goals.
  • Ability to attend late evening / early morning events periodically.
  • Attend out-of-town conferences and represent the company brand to clients and prospects when needed.
  • Interpret client needs and develop simple proposals based on existing templates.
  • Track and manage customer contacts, interactions, and opportunities in a customer relationship management system.
  • Use excellent communication and customer management skills to ensure deadlines, sales, and cost targets are met.
  • Follow-up on and secure signed sales agreements.


Education / Formal Training Required:

  • At least two years of direct business development and client relationship management experience, ideally in a professional services firm.
  • A formal business development, client relationship, sales or marketing qualification would be a significant benefit.


Capabilities:

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong time management skills.
