Job Description

Sika is looking for an experienced Operations Development Trainer to join its growing team in Brighton, CO.

The Operations Development Trainer plays a key role in building employee capability and supporting operational excellence at the Brighton site. This position is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining effective training programs that ensure employees have the knowledge and skills to work safely, efficiently, and in alignment with site goals.

Working closely with HR, subject matter experts, leadership, and the corporate training team, the Trainer designs and implements learning programs, evaluates training effectiveness, ensures compliance, and supports continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities

Training Development & Delivery

  • Develop and administer unit-specific training, including refresher courses, special training needs, and capital project training.
  • Conduct hands-on, classroom, and computer-based training for operational staff.
  • Assist in designing training curricula and ensuring consistency across units.
  • Lead qualification testing and learning verification for shift personnel.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Schedule, deliver, and document all regulatory-required training.
  • Maintain complete and accurate training records and materials (paper, electronic, and other media).
  • Ensure training KPIs are met, including those tied to computer-based learning.

Coordination & Continuous Improvement

  • Support coordination of common site training (Safety, HAZWOPER, fire brigade, etc.).
  • Maintain training schedules and coordinate operator qualification programs.
  • Collaborate with site and corporate teams on training initiatives.
  • Track and ensure timely completion of MOC-related action items and communicate updates to personnel.
  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures as part of ongoing operational and quality system improvements.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of operations experience in a sealants and adhesives facility or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Experience training or supervising personnel in a manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train and engage diverse audiences.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management abilities.
  • Skilled at adapting training methods to different learning styles.
  • Deep understanding of operational processes and training methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
