Job description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participate in all phases of the Table Games Dealer Training Program, including classroom instruction,
    practical exercises, and live game simulations.
  • Learn and demonstrate proficiency in dealing assigned games according to Apache Casino Hotel policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Apply customer service standards by maintaining a positive, professional, and guest-focused demeanor during training and live game simulations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to protect and control the integrity of the game.
  • Successfully complete evaluations and testing at various stages of training to advance to Dealer status.
  • Understand and comply with attendance policies, appearance standards, and all casino rules and regulations.
  • Maintain an upbeat, team-oriented attitude in the training environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, and ratios).
  • Manual dexterity and handโ€“eye coordination to handle cards, dice, and chips quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to pass all phases of training, including written knowledge tests, practical skill tests, and a live game simulated audition.
  • Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous under all circumstances.
  • Maintain an upbeat, team-oriented attitude in the training environment.

  • Adhere to and act in accordance with all casino policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and use hands to manipulate playing cards, dice, and chips.
  • Must have sufficient vision, hearing, and manual coordination to perform essential training tasks.
  • May be exposed to a gaming floor environment that includes flashing lights, and moderate noise levels.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate. Flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.

At minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test and obtain a gaming license. Regular attendance is required.
