Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology โ€“ Crump is accepting applications for the full-time position of Machine Tool Technology Associate Dual Enrollment Instructor at Riverside High School in Parsons, TN.

Job Duties

  • The Machine Tool Technology Associate Instructor is responsible for providing in person individualized theory and hands-on instruction to adult and high school students to prepare them for employment in the field.
  • Areas of instruction include blueprint reading, shop theory, precision measuring, technical math, CAD, safety, basic metallurgy, etc.
  • The Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and evaluate individual student progress; maintain student records in the collegeโ€™s student records management software; maintain appropriate documentation; submit timely reports; and assist in recruitment of new students and placement of graduates.
  • The Associate Instructor must also maintain good public relations with business and industry, participate in advisory committee efforts and cooperate with outside agencies.
  • This position also supervises and follows-up on students participating in cooperative education. Some travel may be required.
  • This position is full-time and reports to the Crump Campus Vice President.ย  Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Scheduled class hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is not a remote work position

Minimum Qualifications

โ€ข Minimum of Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in related field. A comparable combination of education and directly related work experience may be considered.
โ€ข Minimum three (3) years of experience in the Machine Tool field within the last five (5) years.
โ€ข Must possess NIMS certifications or the ability to become certified within 12 calendar months.
โ€ข Must possess computer skills.
โ€ข Strong hands-on technical background in field of instruction.
โ€ข Proficient in the use of conventional machines such as vertical milling machines, manual lathes, CNC machines, and also Haas program lathes and milling machines, and EDM machines.
โ€ข Must possess a high degree of knowledge in the following areas: blueprint reading, shop theory, precision measuring, technical math, safety. SKILLS
โ€ข Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and interact with high school and adult students.
โ€ข Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude and stable personality.
โ€ข Must be willing to remain current in the instructional field and maintain personal certifications and program accreditation(s).

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

โ€ข Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a plus.
โ€ข Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public and business/industry representatives.

  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects in a classroom and clinical health care setting.
