A flight attendant trainee attends a training program with an airline. During training, which can last from three to six weeks, you learn the skills that you need to work as a flight attendant. You learn how to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during flights. Your duties during this period include taking exams on the material that you learn. You need to pass these tests and prove your proficiency during practice flights. After you train and pass all exams, you earn an FAA Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency. This certification is necessary to work as a professional flight attendant.
