Extrusion Operator - 3rd Shift

Location: Liberty, NC

Shift: 3rd Shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Pay: Starting at $17.00/hour plus $1.75/hour shift differential. Higher starting pay available based on manufacturing and extrusion experience.

Americhem is hiring a 3rd Shift Extrusion Operator at our Liberty, North Carolina manufacturing facility. This manufacturing operator position is responsible for operating extrusion equipment, monitoring production processes, performing machine setup and troubleshooting, and producing high-quality plastic compounds and color concentrates.

Americhem is one of the world's leading manufacturers of custom color concentrates, engineered compounds, and additive solutions. As an Extrusion Operator, you will play a key role in our manufacturing and production operations while working in a safe, team-oriented environment.

Eligible for holiday pay upon hire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and adjust extrusion equipment to meet production specifications.
  • Set up and run extrusion machines, feeders, pelletizers, classifiers, scales, dies, and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Produce compound samples and finished products according to customer and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot extrusion equipment and production issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic machine maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Operate a forklift/tow motor to move materials and load color mix containers into production equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and workplace safety initiatives.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to work 3rd shift in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic math, measurement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing, production, machine operator, extrusion operator, plastics manufacturing, or industrial experience.
  • Forklift or tow motor experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience operating extrusion machines, production equipment, or manufacturing machinery.
