Job description

SUMMARY
The Sr Director of Clinical Informatics and Provider Training reports to the VP of Informatics and helps lead RRH in strategy development, and implementation of Information Technology to support physicians, nursing, nursing practice, and clinical applications.
The Sr. Director of Clinical Informatics provides strategic direction and oversight for a comprehensive clinical informatics portfolio. This incumbent has expert knowledge that supports the use, development, deployment, and operational needs of electronic health records, clinical communication and collaboration platforms, and other health information technologies. This person manages multiple projects and initiatives, including assigned personnel, throughout our hospitals and other patient care areas. In particular they are responsible for the Specialist (STS) Training Program for the electronic medical record (EMR), Nurse/ Clinical Informatics program and the Physician Builder/ Clinical Builder program. This individual shall lead a team of specialist trainers that will participate in classroom training, preparation, on-site and remote support. They will also lead a team of Nurse and Clinical Informaticists that will play a central role in projects and activities within the informatics space. This individual will lead the Physician Builder and Clinical Builder program by providing education and support to those certified in the these applications. Additionally, he/she will assist in other areas related to the electronic medical record including taking a lead role in the Medical Informatics committee, oversight of ambulatory advisory groups as well as communication, support and strategic planning of EMR related projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Align health information technology and clinical activities within the organization.
• Apply framework and strategy for enterprise initiatives and evaluations.
• Represents provider/nursing interests in partnerships with clinical, operational, and IT leadership to translate clinical needs into information system needs.
• Manage a team of nursing informaticists in the delivery of processes and technologies that support quality patient outcomes.
• Facilitate health IT implementations that support and enhance clinician workflow, specifically for core and specialty electronic health records and their integrated clinician-facing applications.
• Partner with IT, Operations, Clinicians, and other colleagues to create and apply evidence-based tools within our learning health system.
• Maintains effective communication with the executive team and other stakeholders, both written and verbal.
• Cultivate informatics and leadership skills within the internal team, ensuring open communication between direct reports and other levels of leadership.
• Serve as subject matter expert with field and corporate partners to establish and disseminate best practices for integrated technologies.
• Identify highest-value opportunities to proposed solutions to clinical workflow and operational barriers, based on data and observation

• Assists the build team with current and future build projects including facilitation between IT and clinical departments during the build process
• Act as a bridge between the Nurse/Clinical Informaticists and Operational, Clinical and IT leadership
• Act as a bridge between the Physician Builders and Clinical Builders and IT
• Participate in the development of clinical data science education including analytics
• Assists in the development of communication such as Knowledge Builders, Strides articles, and e-mail communication
• Oversees the clinical information segment of EMR training through the Specialist Training Specialist program to ensure classroom training is current, precise and relevant for providers across the system.
• Supports the Clinical Support/Personalization Labs
• Help develop tools to assess end user proficiency and needs as well as efficacy of training and support visits /tools
• Provides 1:1 support for new sites / providers as well as staff that require additional training after the initial go live period has ended
• Functions as an IT/Clinical resource for Care Connect and Dragon software
• Additional responsibilities assigned as appropriate

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

$130,000.00 - $170,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
