Job description

  • The Supplier Consultant is accountable for the execution of relevant supply category strategies.
  • Collaborates with business partners to develop and execute supplier category strategies.
  • Develops and executes strategies to optimize medical cost containment programs.
  • Supports supplier sourcing, selection, negotiation, and contracting activities.
  • Manages supplier relationships utilizing the five pillars of supplier management.
  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure contracted service levels, quality standards, and compliance requirements are achieved.
  • Conducts regular supplier performance and stewardship reviews.
  • Leads supplier governance processes including quarterly business reviews and performance remediation activities.
  • Partners with business stakeholders and suppliers to investigate escalated issues and perform root cause analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Typically a minimum of five to eight years' work experience in supplier management
  • Experience managing healthcare, managed care, medical bill review, provider network, or cost containment vendors preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of specialty area and solid knowledge of departmental sourcing practices
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and with personnel at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
  • Excellent negotiation, verbal and written communication skills.
