We are currently seeking a Network Engineer - SECRET Clearance to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

Job Summary:

As a Network Engineer, you will support the planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of secure and resilient network infrastructure, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity and interoperability standards. This role involves configuring, administering, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN, and network security devices—including routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and encryption devices—across both classified and unclassified environments. The Network Engineer monitors network performance, conducts capacity planning, implements upgrades, and proactively resolves issues to maintain high availability and mission readiness. Responsibilities also include enforcing DoD network security policies, ensuring DISA STIG and RMF compliance, supporting Continuity of Operations (COOP) and disaster recovery network planning, maintaining accurate documentation such as network diagrams and standard operating procedures, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers while interfacing with government stakeholders on network-related projects.

Job Duties:

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer networks including VPNs, routers, and other network devices.
  • Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
  • Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
  • Implementing disaster recovery procedures
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
  • Working with cloud-based network services.
  • Installing and maintaining firewalls and other security systems.
  • Monitoring network traffic and performance.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
  • Updating and upgrading network hardware and software.
  • Developing and implementing network security policies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline
    • 5 years’ additional relevant experience will substitute for a Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 5 years of  IT Networking experience within a DoD environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with network security, firewalls, and security protocols
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Wireshark or any other network packet capture and analysis tools 
  • CCNA
  • Security+ CE certification
  • Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI eligible

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TOP SECRET Clearance with the ability to be SCI eligible
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical thinking
  • Foundation in networking fundamentals including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, and routing and switching
  • CCNP, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Network+
  • Wireless Networking
  • Secure VoIP Technology

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role is $79,480 - $119,220. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation. This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and AD&D insurance, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and additional voluntary or legally-required benefits.
