UnityPoint Clinic is actively recruiting a Family Medicine Physicianto join our team in Fort Dodge, Iowa

The clinical teams at the area’s clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center is a nonprofit hospital that serves Fort Dodge and surrounding communities. As a designated regional referral center, Trinity offers a wide range of primary and secondary care services. Trinity is accredited by DNV Healthcare Inc. and has achieved Pathway to Excellence designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

  • Established team of 3 physicians and 5 Advanced Practitioners
  • Opportunity to practice outpatient medicine in an established and well-known clinic

  • Full-time position including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities
  • Average of 20-25 patients per day; no nights or weekends
  • No inpatient responsibilities
    • Hospitalist Program is responsible for serving adult and pediatric inpatients
  • Telephonic outpatient call only, no need to physically report to clinic/hospital
    • Call shared equitably by primary care providers, currently 1:14 rotation
    • Calls are triaged through My Nurse Call Center, very minimal call volume
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
  • General family medicine procedures such as joint injections, skin excisions, lacerations, casting, etc.
  • Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician's field of practice
  • Eligible to work in the United States (H1‑B exempt)
  • J‑1 waiver sponsorship available
