Job description

Reyes Fleet Management is hiring immediately for the role of a 1st shift Trailer Mechanic B for our site in Portage, IN. This role will primarily be responsible for handling repairs on new and refurbished trailers.
Shift: Full-Time l Days- Choose Shifts available for 4:10 hour shift OR 5:8 hour shifts Monday-Friday-NO WEEKENDS!
Pay: $25.00-$27.00/HR based on experience/qualifications

Position Responsibilities:
  • The Trailer Upfitting Technician is responsible for the refurbishment and remanufacturing of company fleet assets within the Company
  • As a Trailer Upfitting Technician, you will assist with diagnosing and detailed inspections of complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software
  • You will complete thorough documentation of work orders for repairs through the online AssetWorks system
  • You will install trailer refrigeration, heating units, and external graphics as well as perform basic welding, metal cutting, and installation of hydraulic liftgate components
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 plus years of related experience
  • Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement)
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Technical School Certification
