Traffic Project Manager
We have an exciting career opportunity for a Traffic Project Manager with our Civil, Traffic team. In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a traffic project engineer, you will perform engineering analysis and supporting calculations / documentation relating to traffic safety and operations. You will also coordinate the drafting of project deliverables for various clients. The ideal candidate has experience with traffic and safety experience and comprehensive knowledge of local and MassDOT standards.
Location
This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Boston, MA office.
Key Projects Driving Transportation Innovation
Our Boston Civil Group is proud to lead and support high-profile transportation and infrastructure projects throughout the region, including:
  • Reid Overpass / Memorial Drive Improvements - Cambridge, MA - Advancing transformative alternatives analysis and preliminary design to improve safety, multimodal connectivity, and operations at one of the region's most complex urban transportation corridors.
  • MassDOT Design-Build Projects - Currently serving as Lead Engineer on multiple high-profile MassDOT Design-Build assignments, including:
    • Leading traffic engineering and temporary traffic signal accommodations for the Skanska team on a major Bridge Bundle Project.
    • Serving as Lead Engineer for Northern Construction on the Wareham/Marion Bridge Replacement Project, supporting complex traffic management, roadway coordination, and construction staging efforts.
  • Complete Streets and Multimodal Corridor Projects - Delivering traffic engineering, signal design, roadway safety analysis, and operational improvements for municipalities and agencies throughout Massachusetts and New England.
  • MassDOT and Municipal On-Call Contracts - Providing ongoing traffic engineering, transportation planning, and operational support services for complex transportation initiatives statewide.

What We Are Looking For
  • A minimum of 10 years of diverse and progressive civil transportation and traffic engineering experience
  • Licensed PE in the state of MA or planning to obtain licensure within one year
  • PTOE License preferred
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience working with public agencies and/or municipalities. MassDOT experience is preferred
  • Progressive experience with developing plans analysis and reports per DOT standards and requirements
  • Excellent communication and client relation skills
  • Strong organization skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
  • Advanced use of project-specific software such as CADD, Synchro, HCS, SIDRA, Vissum, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
  • Willingness to work at client sites, as needed, as an extension of client staff

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act . The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.
