Chandler and Campbelle Investment Group, in partnership with LAZ Parking, is seeking a qualified Traffic Dispatcher to support parking operations at Memphis International Airport (MEM). This position plays a vital role in coordinating incoming traffic, dispatching vehicles efficiently, and maintaining smooth daily operations. The Traffic Dispatcher serves as a key point of communication between drivers, customers, and management, ensuring a high level of service and operational excellence.
In this role, the Traffic Dispatcher is responsible for monitoring and directing the flow of incoming traffic throughout the airport’s parking facilities. The position requires assigning and dispatching fleet vehicles to designated parking locations using a computerized dispatch system, taking into account proximity, space availability, and operational priorities. Effective communication is essential, as the Dispatcher will relay important updates, instructions, and special requests to drivers and management using radio or other communication devices.
The Dispatcher will track the progress of fleet vehicles as they travel to and from customer locations, ensuring drivers adhere to scheduled pick-up times and assigned routes. This position also handles customer inquiries and concerns, addressing issues professionally and escalating them to management when necessary. Additional responsibilities include coordinating lost and found procedures by working closely with drivers to return lost items promptly and maintaining accurate records of dispatch activity, driver routes, customer interactions, and any incidents that occur during the shift.
The role may require implementing emergency protocols, such as contacting emergency services following an accident or assisting drivers experiencing operational issues. The Traffic Dispatcher must remain calm under pressure, respond quickly to changing circumstances, and support management with additional tasks as needed.
The position requires frequent walking and standing, sometimes for the duration of the shift. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overnight hours. Knowledge of airport operations and procedures is beneficial but not required. Applicants must pass a background check, and drug screening and must be able to work in various weather conditions. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment are essential. Proficiency with computers, two-way radios, cell phones, and electronic tablets is required.
