Instructional Aide for K-5th
for the 2026-2027 School Year
Serving a diverse community of over 600 students from Kindergarten - 8th grade, our teachers and Instructional Aides collaborate with each other to educate our students to a high standard, in both academics and character. We strive to form our students to be PEARLS: People with strong character, Effective communicators, Active Christians, Responsible citizens, and Lifelong learners.
St. Matthew's has a supportive parish community, and community of school parents, who partner with us in forming saints and scholars. We have a multitude of resources available to support all staff and to set up our teachers and aides for success.
We are a double class school; teachers have partner teachers to work and collaborate with, as well as full-time instructional aides in each classroom from K-5th grades. New teachers and instructional aides have access to a strong yearlong mentorship program, as well as access to ongoing professional development tailored to individual and communal needs. Teachers and Instructional Aides collectively have access to a generous classroom supply fund to utilize for materials and supplies for classroom enrichment beyond your provided basic classroom supplies.
Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise with technology including various devices, document camera, Google, smartboard
  • Higher education desirable

Responsibilities:
  • Assists classroom teacher throughout the day in a collaborative union to promote quality instruction. This includes copying, organizing, grading, and filing all classwork, homework, artwork, or other assignments.
  • Assists teachers with recording grades in the gradebook.
  • Assists teachers keeping orderly files of attendance, tardy notices, uniform, and behavior notices.
  • Responsible for assisting classroom teachers with an overall structured, safe, and clean environment.
  • Provide individualized or small group instruction in all subjects at grade level when needed.
  • Establishes and maintains collegial rapport with participating teachers.
  • Participate fully in required St. Matthew School training and meetings.
  • Works collaboratively and collegially with administration, other Classroom Aides, teachers, faculty and parents/caregivers.
  • Fulfill additional school duties such as traffic and recess duty.
  • Perform classroom teaching duties when needed as the substitute teacher.
