Job purpose

The IT Service Desk Intern is a member of the End-User Experience team and reports to the BorgWarner IT Service Desk Manager for North/Central/South America. The IT Service Desk Intern supports IT Service Desk agents and end-users using various tools and software

Key responsibilities

  • Review current processes and procedures to identify opportunities for making everyday tasks smoother and more efficient.
  • Keep an eye on incoming help requests and issues assigned to the Service Desk team in the NOW system.
  • Create, update, and improve helpful howto articles and guides in the NOW system.
  • Monitor the Customer Experience dashboard in the NOW system to understand user feedback, including feedback for Indy, the IT Virtual Agent.
  • Assist the NOW admin team with basic administrative tasks and request handling, such as updating groups or other simple system items.
  • Support the managed Service Desk team by helping answer questions, assisting with basic account updates in Active Directory, and providing clarity to thirdparty agents when needed.

  • Current full-time enrollment in an accredited college, university, vocational/trade school.
  • Ability to report onsite at least three days to our Auburn Hills Campus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with end users
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Interest in customer service, user satisfaction, and process improvement
  • Ability to analyze workflows and contribute to more efficient procedures
  • Students pursuing studies in IT, hospitality, human resources, statistics, or related fields
  • Comfort working in a team that supports the User Experience function
  • A mindset focused on problemsolving, organization, and continuous improvement
  • Willingness to learn new systems, tools, and processes
