The Manager, Trade Operations, is responsible for maintaining compliance with all necessary government regulations while importing goods in the most cost-efficient manner possible. This individual serves as the primary person responsible for non-daily trade compliance functions, primarily focusing on imports into the US and other key countries. This position is responsible for helping develop Entrusts import strategies and provide operational leadership to the Trade Operations team. This person is responsible for conducting some internal compliance audits, maintaining trade standard operating policy and procedures (SOPs), and coordinating training for multiple international operating units.

Responsibilities:

Manager, Trade Operations

  • Ensure import customs policies are developed in partnership with Trade Compliance, maintained and effectively implemented, current to evolving global requirements, local regulations, and corporate policies/standards.
  • Leads trade operations team through technical direction and guidance along with leading team in technical projects. Performs general management responsibilities such as hiring, performance mgmt. and work direction.
  • Engages others to build partnerships to integrate Trade Operations in Entrusts business. Work cross-functionally with other global and regional teams as necessary to carry out business goals.
  • Responsible for overseeing global broker management performance, including performance standards, compliance controls, and metrics.
  • Manages Entrusts overall duty reduction program, including free trade agreements, duty drawback, USMCA, GSP and other eligible trade programs.
  • Partners with Legal and Trade Compliance to evaluate risks associated with import operations, identify opportunities for cost-savings, and participate in various government initiatives.
  • Facilitate/manage the successful resolution of regulatory challenges through relationship building with U.S. and foreign regulatory agencies, ie. CBP, FDA, etc.
  • Continuously review/validate HTS tariff classifications that are utilized by Entrust to ensure compliance with import regulations.
  • Regularly monitor global trade operations regulatory updates, news and regulation changes to ensure continued compliance.
  • Responsible for communicating and escalating trade risks to Trade Compliance.
  • Develop performance metrics for Trade Operations to measure success and operational excellence.
  • Represent Trade Operation interests in supply chain, manufacturing, new product development, new market development and commercial initiatives.
  • Oversees, creates and conducts training content for internal Entrust partners on trade operation matters.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degrees in related/relevant field
  • 5+ years' experience in Compliance, Import/Export Operations and/or Logistics field
  • Knowledge in the following areas: Census Bureau (AES), ATA Carnets, ACE, HTS classifications, and other U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, and Free Trade Agreement Program Certificate preparation.
  • Operational knowledge of Other Govt Agencies (OGA) and how the business is impacted.
  • Thorough understanding of import processing and operations, relating to entry, clearance, and post entry functions.
  • Must have proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word)
  • Must have excellent technical, analytical, organizational, and computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and capabilities
  • Must be able to travel as needed
  • Customs Broker License

Compensation Range:


The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $120,144-$176,211 per year (in the primary posting location). Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience. This position is also eligible for the company's discretionary annual incentive plan. In addition to your pay, Entrust offers eligible colleagues and their dependents comprehensive health and well-being programs which include medical, vision, dental, a generous 401(k) matching contribution, life and disability insurance, mental health coaching, virtual fitness programs, paid personal time off plus 12 paid holidays, parental leave and education reimbursement.
