Job Description Summary:

The Trade Development Specialist plays a key role in supporting the execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives across the business. This position is responsible for coordinating and communicating monthly business priorities, supporting incentive and sampling programs, managing POS logistics, and assisting with large-scale events and sponsorship activations.
The role also provides hands-on support for sales team meeting coordination, including organization, scheduling, materials preparation, catering and ordering logistics, and group travel arrangements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while supporting multiple projects and cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities:

Communication and Coordination:

  • Manage and consolidate incentives.
  • Coordinate training and communication for inside sales teams.
  • Serve as the primary contact for promotional agencies, overseeing bookings, tracking, and recapping monthly activities as directed by trade development.

Team Support:

  • Assist with inventory management, forecasting, and demand planning.
  • Handle new item setup, discontinued items, vintage rolls, and product allocations.
  • Communicate pricing updates and manage resource allocation for events, ensuring alignment with budgets and timelines.
  • Provide direction to contractors or agencies for event design and resource distribution.

Process Management and Reporting:

  • Create and compile surveys, acting as the main contact during and after the survey period, ensuring data accuracy and usability.
  • Provide monthly business updates for sales and Business Managers through ad hoc reporting.
  • Coordinate GSM sales meetings, room assignments, and large-scale trainings.
  • Manage charity event participation, including gathering 501c3 documentation and handling sample donations.
  • Oversee NACOM bulletins from suppliers and ensure compliance through communication with sales teams.
  • Develop materials for supplier planning meetings, including reports and presentations, by aggregating and analyzing marketing data, sales data, and demographic trends.
  • Create monthly sales communications, including sell sheets, to support channel business plans.
  • Coordinate POS logistics and deliverables statewide, working with Business Managers.
  • Partner with Brandmuscle or graphics teams to ensure promotional materials are accurate and delivered on time.

Sales and Market Engagement:

  • Participate in general sales meetings and one-on-one meetings with the direct supervisor, preparing recaps and gaining insights into company and supplier priorities.

Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in, including managing large scale events and promotions, finance, project management, operations, etc.
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Analytic and Reporting skills
  • Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
