Job description

Amentum is looking for a Submarine Peculiar Special & Support Equipment

Trades Helper to provide Program Engineering Services to Commander, Naval Submarine Force Atlantic-COMSUBLANT (TYCOM), Submarine Squadron Six and Eight (CSS-6/8) and Naval Submarine Support Facility (NSSF New London) Support.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The Maintenance Trades Helper assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as:

  • Keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools.

  • Cleaning working area, machine, and equipment.

  • Assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools.

  • Performing other unskilled tasks as required by journeyman. The kind of work the helper is permitted to perform varies from trade to trade. In some trades the helper is confined to supplying, lifting and holding materials and tools, and cleaning working areas; and in others the worker is permitted to perform specialized machine operations, or parts of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis.

Resume Requirements:

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

Compensation Details:

$29.50
