Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Trade Compliance Specialist. This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule. This person supports the Trade Director and Manager in maintaining compliant export and import practices across LDRS. The role manages licenses and permits, guides teams on trade tools and regulations, supports training and process implementation, reviews and documents export/import activities, conducts compliance monitoring, assists with audits and investigations, and contributes to cross‑functional trade compliance initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Facilitate DRS business by assisting with implementing and maintaining internal export/import controls to ensure compliance with U.S. government export/import regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Customs and Border Protection Regulations, Economic Embargo Regulations, and Importation of Arms, Ammunition and Implements of War Regulations.
  • In coordination with the Trade Manager or Group Trade Director provides guidance on the application and implementation of U.S. Government export/import regulations to the internal business unit
  • Obtain, maintain and monitor the necessary U.S. Government export/import licenses, agreements, permits, certifications and technology release determinations in support of the Trade Manager or Group Trade Director and various local functions
  • Support the implementation of business processes, procedures and tools to ensure compliance with U.S. Government export/import regulations and Company policies
  • Review and obtain Trade Manager or Group Trade Director approval for the export/import of goods and provide support in the movement of goods
  • Provide reports and update metrics pertaining to various elements including compliance of the export/import processes
  • Manage and maintain export/import files and records in accordance with U.S. Government regulations and Company policy
  • Identify local training needs and assist in development of and provide training pertaining to export/import requirements with guidance from Group Trade Director
  • Monitor export/import compliance (e.g. self-assessments)
  • Support investigations, external audits, internal audits and other compliance matters as directed
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Participate in business and corporate projects focusing on trade compliance
  • Maintain awareness of all international activity, including marketing, trade shows, publishing of technical papers, business development, and procurement
Qualifications
  • 4+ years in trade and/or trade compliance related position
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve general to moderately complex problems
  • Demonstrated application of industry business practices and concepts
  • Attention to detail and follow through on tasks assigned
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to travel as necessary to support the functions of the job
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

The salary range for this position is $ 66,049.00/y ear- $85,864.00/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
