Overview

Job Purpose

The Trading Operations Analyst will provide first line support to all NYSE Group live production trading platforms. This is a customer-facing position that requires identifying, troubleshooting, and escalating customer-related trading questions. The Trading Operations Analyst must be a motivated team player that can see projects to completion, work independently, and be willing to assist other staff in areas not specific to their duties.

Responsibilities

  • Position will require day to day operational support of the NYSE Group Exchanges.
  • This position will also include rotational shift support responsibilities for Early Trading Sessions from 2:00 am ET to 11:00 am ET and Late Trading Sessions from 11:30 am ET to 8:00 pm ET.
  • Monitor trading activity on NYSE Group Exchanges systems.
  • Perform all first shift Trading Operation daily checkout procedures.
  • Assist NYSE Group member firms with questions regarding order types, order type behavior, and routing behavior.
  • Real-time surveillance of electronic trading activity in all Exchange products.
  • Work directly with the System Operations group and understand the basic trading architecture of the NYSE Group Exchanges systems.
  • Electronically maintain activity reports regarding problems, disputes or issues throughout the trading day.
  • Communicate directly with NYSE Regulation and competitor exchanges regarding erroneous trades and erroneous trade rulings.
  • Send out mass communications with regard to market status updates or initiatives.
  • Learn Exchange proprietary trading system functionality and back office support to effectively communicate with customers and bring resolution to all customer queries.
  • Coordinate with customer technology staff and the NYSE Relationship Management team to assist in setting up new users and resolving customer issues on an ongoing basis.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Security licenses, Series 7, Series 63 and Series 57 are required.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in a trading environment in the capacity of trader, trader's assistant, or at a competing exchange, or Alternative Trading System. 
  • Superior computer skills needed, specifically in: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries to research and troubleshoot issues a plus.
  • Must be self-directed and be able to work within a team environment.
  • Friendly, professional telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Work skills/ general skills: Require strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work well under pressure, be flexible, creative and pay attention to details. The candidate should exhibit the ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.  Proficient verbal and written communication skills are necessary, with a demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of people. Must be client-focused, energetic and work well both individually and as a team member. The candidate must possess good interpersonal skills and be willing to foster good relationships with members of the sales team as well as clients.

California Base Salary Range 

The expected base salary for this role, if located in California, is between $81,600 - 106,500 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
