POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

Moss' HRIS PATT Specialist will support and optimize Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules within a fast-paced environment. This role will serve as a subject matter expert for PATT-related processes and configuration, helping ensure payroll accuracy, time data integrity, compliance, and strong employee experience.

The ideal candidate brings proficient hands-on Workday experience, strong knowledge of payroll and workforce operations, and the ability to partner effectively across HR, Payroll, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the Workday subject matter expert for Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules

  • Design, configure, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance Workday business processes, including cutoffs, audits, condition rules, notifications and labor costing impacts to support business needs

  • Manage Workday semimonthly/biweekly payroll runs, offcycle runs, audit reports, and yearend activities

  • Manage the Certified Payroll Reporting (CPR) solution within Workday and/or 3rd party solution, ensuring accurate configuration, data integrity, and timely submission of compliant reports for all applicable projects

  • Develop a Workday PATT roadmap that supports the growth and expansion of the organization

  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT and Operations to improve system performance and process efficiency

  • Develop and maintain Workday reporting (custom reports, calculated fields), dashboards, and analytics for business stakeholders

  • Troubleshoot system and integration issues involving Workday and third-party vendors

  • Support Workday releases, testing, upgrades, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Ensure data integrity, security, compliance, and strong HRIS governance

  • Provide end-user support, training, and documentation for new and existing processes

  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.3-5 years of hands-on Workday experience with strong focus in Payroll and exposure to Absence, Time Tracking and/or Projects

  • Proven experience configuring Workday Payroll (earnings, deductions, pay components, costings, tax setup, period schedules, etc.) and supporting Workday Time Tracking and Absence (time entry codes, time entry templates, calculation tags, eligibility rules, accruals, time offs, leave plans, etc.)

  • Experience developing functional requirements, test scripts, and user documentation

  • Experience supporting a mid to largescale Workday environment (multistate, multientity preferred)

  • Solid understanding of payroll concepts (grosstonet, overtime rules, garnishments, taxability, retro pay, FLSA)

  • Knowledge of time and attendance policies (overtime, shift differentials, premiums, meal/rest breaks, rounding rules)

  • Familiarity with leave management and absence policies (PTO, sick, parental leave, disability, unpaid leaves)

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with high attention to detail and data quality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical Workday concepts into businessfriendly language

  • Proven ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment

  • Demonstrated customer service mindset and ability to support end users and stakeholders at all levels

  • Workday certification in Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, or HCM

  • Experience in construction, energy, or other projectbased industries with complex pay rules and job costing

  • Knowledge of Prevailing Wage requirements and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) incentives/regulations, especially as they relate to payroll configuration, job classifications, and compliance reporting, is highly desired. Experience supporting Workday integrations and vendor relationships

  • Familiarity with Jira, Agile, or similar project tools

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification
