Job description

TRAC Tire Services is now hiring Retread Techs for 3rd shift, to operate various machinery within our plant located in Florence, KY.
3rd Shift - up to $24.30 an hour
THIRD SHIFT - SET SCHEDULE:
7:00PM to 5:30AM; 4x10 hour nights, Monday night through Friday morning
Summary:
The Retread Technician will be responsible for performing all aspects of the commercial tire retreading process, as well as quality control. The retreading process starts when old tires are received into the facility. A quality inspection of the tire is then performed. If the tire passes inspection, the old tread is then buffed away, and a new tread is applied to the buffed "casing" using specialized machinery. After curing the tires in a chamber to secure the new tread, a final inspection is done to complete the process.
This position requires a high level of quality control for each stage of the commercial tire retread process. The retread process is conducted through multiple stations where cross training will be provided for each area.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure station is cleaned and stocked and equipment is working properly before and after all shifts
  • Consistently meet or exceed standard metrics per day for each position (tires inspected, tubes pulled, etc.)
  • Work well in a team environment. Employees may be asked to work multiple positions some days in order to meet daily goals
  • Maintain and update logs and tracking spreadsheets as needed
  • Show up to work in a timely and consistent fashion to ensure your shift does not lose productivity due to staffing shortages
  • Ability to identify when using any hazardous materials and use proper PPE procedures when handling these materials
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Ability to work in facility that is a non-climate controlled work environment, e.g. hot in the summer months and cold in the winter months
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist and lift objects over 50 - 100 pounds on a regular basis. This includes using 100+ pounds of pressure when pushing tires
  • Must be able to work standing up and handle repetitive and sustained motions, awkward postures, mechanical stress concentrations, and vibrations
  • Knowledge and understanding of Commercial Tires is preferred
  • Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screening as well as a criminal background check
  • Must be 18 years of age to apply for this position
