Job description

Truck Tire Sales Manager

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp is looking to hire a Truck Tire Sales Manager for the Northeastern region. The Truck Tire Sales Manager will be accountable for the attainment of the assigned unit and dollar sales targets for Truck and Bus Radial ("TBR") products within their assigned sales division and specific geographic area. Toward this overall goal, these responsibilities also include the effective interaction with and training of Regional Sales Managers (RSM's) and for developing and maintaining professional relationships with key TBR dealers, their commercial sales personnel, and targeted fleet accounts. The TTSM is to be the source of competitive information and market dynamics for division and corporate management and is responsible for business development within the assigned markets.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrate expertise with knowledge of product line, technical issues, and application/industry nuances.
  • Achieve assigned, annual TBR unit and dollar sales goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with assigned TBR dealer accounts through regular contact and proper handling of sales and administrative functions.
  • Assist the Directors of Sales and Regional Sales Managers in solicitation efforts at large TBR fleet prospects.
  • Optimize activities through effective call planning, execution, and time management.
  • Achieve appropriate mix of wholesale, servicing dealer and key fleet sales volumes, with more wholesale volume in the beginning, and declining over time in favor of servicing dealer and fleet volumes.
  • Collaborate with Director of Commercial Truck Tire Sales and Divisional Directors to target, solicit and sign new Retail and Direct Fleet accounts.
  • Keep Director of Commercial Truck Tire Sales informed of all aspects of sales and marketing dynamics, as well as competitive issues, programs, pricing, discounts, volume levels and bonuses, through the use of SalesForce.com, and effective email communications.
  • Train and develop sales personnel, both key dealer commercial sales personnel as well as Toyo Regional Sales Managers, to ensure the development of people and accomplishment of established sales objectives for TBR products, while promoting Toyo as a premier commercial tire brand in the industry.
  • Understand/Promote/Develop programs and packages to dealers and fleets.
  • Maximize the use of available sales tools and applications (SalesForce.com, etc)
  • Achieve accurate and appropriate forecasts of Toyo products using the provided tools.
  • Work with Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. management to formulate and institutionalize the Toyo Approach to Commercial Tire Sales – a methodology and culture for selling truck tires in the USA.
  • Plan, develop, and implement written programs for dealer accounts to achieve sales goals.
  • Attend and participate in quarterly Divisional meetings representing the Commercial Truck Tire Division concerning sales issues, training elements, product updates, and assistance to Regional Sales Managers and Division Directors.
  • Collaborate on products and technical needs with the Sr. Product Manager of Commercial Truck Tires.
  • Assist the Director of Commercial Truck Tire Sales in the recommendation and formulation of selling strategies, sales programs, and ideas to maximize the efforts of the entire Toyo Sales team.
  • Follow safety regulations to insure a safety-first culture of zero accidents and zero injuries.

The salary range listed is what we reasonably expect to compensate generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on the specific job description. The salary range for this position is $87,424.00 to $108,136.00

  • Commercial LTR and TBR product knowledge and vehicle application knowledge.
  • Significant experience with both commercial servicing dealers and wholesale distributors.
  • Background of working with large fleets or national accounts.
  • Proven ability to influence others to achieve results without direct reporting control; a self-starter, leader and manager.
  • Strong "value add" selling skills through products, programs and services, motivational skills.
  • Track record of attaining objectives in tough environments.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize.
  • Solid written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Personal computer skills necessary for communication, reporting and presentations.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus.
  • Ability to travel, with overnight accommodations, at least 75% of the time.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving history.

Education and/or experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution in business related field of study with three (3) years of experience in tire sales or Associate's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in tire sales. Commercial truck tire sales experience and/or experience as tire manufacturer representative is highly desired.
