Description

  • Coordinates with Warehouse Manager to oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operationsย 
  • Maintains layout of warehouse and ensures efficient space utilization.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security/safety procedures and protocols.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; is responsible for, and is prepared to account for, inventory levels at all times (catapult training and entering current pricing of items inventoried. Updated bi weekly)
  • Reconciles physical inventory levels with database's outlined inventory and ensures no discrepancies.ย ย 
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; and issuing requests for repairs and replacements.
  • Maintains standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security, including maintaining work areas to a high standard of cleanliness at all times.ย 
  • Coordinates with Warehouse manager and follows the Market's maintenance and cleaning schedule for Facilities Maintenance.
  • Gathers and empties trash and recyclable bins when full.
  • Conducts snow removal.
  • Responsible for light construction (sanding, painting, moving fixtures, assembling fixtures, light bulb change-out, etc.)
  • Maintains cleanliness on the sidewalks and patio area and keeps areas free from debris and trash.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on store equipment including HVAC systems.ย ย 
  • Notifies higher management when store needs major repairs.
  • Answers customer inquiries and assists customers in finding products, when necessary.
  • Along with Warehouse Manager, is point of contact for R&M vendors
  • Safely utilizes the truck to transfer product to and from Market, daily.
  • Collaborates with Department Managers to keep abreast of supply and/or product needs throughout each department.
  • Moves products utilizing a forklift and various other warehouse equipment (i.e., ladders, step stools, ratchet straps, etc.)
  • Reports any safety hazards, safety violations, or incidents to higher management immediately; must be proactive in identifying potential threats or dangers and taking measures to correct the issue and prevent safety issues.ย 
  • Evaluates work conditions and environment on a consistent and frequent basis, and communicates regularly with higher management regarding any issues such as needed repairs, safety issues, equipment needs, etc.
  • Provides attentive, timely, and friendly service to all internal and external customers at all times.ย 
  • Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the co-op.
  • Coordinates with grocery team to assist with merchandising, stocking, changeover, receiving trucks, etc.
  • Maintains knowledge of products, sales, and promotions.ย 
  • Others duties as assigned.ย 


Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.ย 
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with basic repair tools and their proper use (drills, wrenches, screwdriver, etc.)ย 
  • Basic knowledge of store equipment.
  • A minimum of one (1) year's experience in a retail environment.ย ย 
  • A minimum of one (1) year's experience and familiarity with natural foods.
  • Supports the co-op's core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
  • Adapts readily based on evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
  • Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.ย 
  • Computer proficiency, familiarity with MS Office Suite, and experience with receiving systems.ย 


ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (approximately -15F - 100F).ย 
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods at a time.ย 
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and climb.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and unassisted.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical.
  • Ability to pass Forklift Certification.
