Job description

Segway tour guides will provide guests with an intimate mobility assisted tour exploring the scenic beauty of Oglebay, off-road throughout the amazing landscape and beautiful trail systems of the park. Providing a fun and safe atmosphere for all involved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Confirm online payment before hosting tour
  • Organize, sanitize, and maintain Segways and safety gear on a daily basis
  • Inspect Segways prior to use to ensure a quality experience for every guest
  • Keep all paperwork and receipts for payment in order for daily tours
  • Set up and explain ground training school for the tour along with Segway video
  • Tear down ground training school at the end of the day
  • Give verbal instruction to participants in a positive, friendly, and informative manner
  • Ensure all participants follow safety instructions during the tour
  • Possess good oral communication and a fun, outgoing personality
  • Adhere to Wheeling Park Commission’s safety rules and policy; refer any and all safety concerns to department manager, safety committee or human resources
  • Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
