Position: Tour Guide - Education & Programming Internship
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports To: Education & Programming Manager
Location: Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
Pay: $15 per hour
Position Summary:
Provide dynamic and enthusiastic daily museum programming for Hillerich & Bradsby Co. and Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. Serve as a museum ambassador. Assist with museum exhibits, tours, and rental events as needed. Provide interaction with guests in exhibit areas and bat vault. Will create and implement an engaging museum program project.
This is a paid position that is scheduled to work weekends, and evening availability is required.
Essential Functions:
  1. Assist with daily programming. This includes, but is not limited to, bat vault presentation, hand turning, burn branding, and hold a piece of history experiences.
  2. Assist tour team providing guided tours of the bat factory while adhering to the standard tour script and maintaining an enthusiastic, dynamic approach to every tour.
  3. Maintain the in-gallery guest comment log.
  4. Track personal experiences via a daily journal.
  5. Compile experiences and observations into a final report.
  6. Complete a Programming Internship Project. Create and implement an interactive and engaging museum program.
  7. Provide top-notch interaction with all guests, in all areas of the museum, at all times.
  8. Assist other guides with gathering guests for tours and programming.
  9. Potentially travel to MLB parks to work the Mobile Museum - travel expenses would be covered.

Other Duties:
  1. Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
