Job Description
Summary/Objective
Schedules all BEP tours, including: congressional; school groups; language-specific; and other groups, using a Government-provided BEP Tours tour scheduling software program. Tour Scheduler answers phones in the tour office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00• p.m. daily responding to requests and conducting tour scheduling via the phone, email, fax , or mail.
Essential Functions
  • The Tour Scheduler shall inform all visitors prior to their arrival at the BEP what to expect, for example, they must arrive at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled tours to clear through security.
  • When the TS is unavailable to perform their duties, the Contractor shall provide to the COR a trained alternate TS as soon as they are made aware of the absence. The Contractor shall also provide a trained backup to assist the TS during peak request times for tours, particularly during peak season, March through August.
  • Greets and registers guests; distributes any required identification badges or safety devices.
  • Plans expeditions, instruction, and appropriate commentary based on environmental conditions and clients skills and ability levels.
  • Provides guests and visitors with initial safety and administrative information and direction.
  • Conducts tour or excursion while providing interesting and entertaining information about popular locations or specific points of interest.
  • Retells and relays important or interesting historical facts, dates, and anecdotes.
  • Engages wit and charm to enhance the guest experience.
  • Tailors tour content to the age and interest of guests and visitors.
  • Facilitates rich discussions that maintain visitors' interest.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable safety practices, environmental regulations, and establishment policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Physically able to speak for long periods of time while walking without becoming winded.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Required Education & Experience
  • Have at least two (2) years' customer service experience, including the handling of a large volume of inquiries listed on their resume, which can be verified.
  • Have at least one (1) year computer experience, including the knowledge of scheduling software.

  • Must receive Clear Background Investigation conducted by Treasury Department
