THE JOB
Live Nation is looking for experienced Box Office Managers to oversee ticketing operations at concert venues across various locations in the US. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to interact professionally with management teams, partners, and clients at all levels. The ideal candidate must thrive under pressure, demonstrating the ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
The Box Office Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Box Office, ensuring adherence to best practices and procedures for both Live Nations owned & operated venues and third-party venues, as needed. Proficiency in ticketing software, staff management, and guest relations is essential. Travel may be required for this position.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Managerial Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all ticketing-related matters for assigned venues or locations.
  • Cultivate strong, professional relationships with Live Nation promoters, ticketing staff, guests, and affiliated partners.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, scheduling, and daily supervision of all Box Office staff
  • Ensure that all Box Office personnel adhere to company policies and procedures regarding ticket operations.
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external event stakeholders to address all ticketing needs.
  • Manage and oversee all Box Office operations during events, including ticket sales, Will Call, ticket scanning and reporting.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment while maintaining high staff morale.
  • Ensure Ticketing department delivers exceptional customer service to all guests and works proactively to resolve any issues that arise.

Event Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain events within the appropriate ticketing software for assigned venues and locations.
  • Assist talent buyers, tour personnel, and internal teams with event programming, reporting, ticket holds, and other ticketing details as needed.
  • Work closely with the Marketing, Production, and Talent departments, as well as artist management and label representatives, to set up events, manage holds, process orders, and release tickets on time.
  • Help monitor and manage ticket inventory to ensure optimal availability.
  • Partner with the Pricing team to dynamically price tickets and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Ancillary Product team and Venue General Manager to create and optimize additional revenue streams through ancillary products.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) ticketing practices.

Accounting/Financial Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Box Office accounting records and archives.
  • Ensure all Box Office staff comply with company cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily Box Office safe reconciliations, prepare deposits, and run all necessary financial reports.
  • Take responsibility for preparing Box Office settlement reports for events.
  • Actively participate in event settlements as required.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Monitor all ticketing software and hardware systems, addressing any issues as they arise.
  • Embrace and implement new ticketing technologies provided by Ticketmaster, such as TM1 Entry, TM1 Sales, and TM1 Events.
  • Stay informed on key ticketing trends within the entertainment industry.
  • Attend relevant meetings, discussions, and conferences as the designated ticketing lead for the venue.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by leadership.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or comparable work experience
  • 2-3 years' experience as a Box Office manager or representative, including management level work experience
  • Strong knowledge of customer service, computer operations, and accounting/cash management procedures
  • Understanding of Ticketing systems including, but not limited to Ticketmaster Host, Archtics, AccountManager and the TM1 product suite
  • Previous experience managing season ticket business and ancillary products such as VIP Parking, Club and other premium hospitality offerings
  • Ability to provide leadership, engage in positive interaction with staff and guests, prioritize, organize, motivate staff, problem solve, delegate, follow-up, communicate and diffuse possibly volatile situations with tact
  • Ability to communicate respectfully with diplomacy across all levels of business is essential
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours, based on the needs of daily business operations
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work under pressure to meet strict and fluid deadlines
