POSITION SUMMARY:

The Inland Marine Business Analyst will be based at Marathon Petroleum Company's corporate headquarters in Findlay, OH and report to the Marine Logistics & Asset Development Director. This role will partner with Analysts, Asset Development Representatives, and Schedulers responsible for managing Marathon's Inland Marine assets, the fourth-largest liquid fleet in the nation. The Business Analyst will support the team through benchmarking, forecasting, process improvement and automation, market intelligence, data analytics, and month-end closeout activities. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, organized, and an effective communicator with strong data analysis and project management skills.

This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supports the development and innovation of models and commercially focused tools, dashboards, and reports.

  • Assists with providing analytical support in the modeling and evaluation of new business opportunities and strategy development.

  • Acquires and maintains internal and external information to develop market intelligence in support of commercial and asset development.

  • Executes ad-hoc analytical work and presentations as requested by Inland Marine Leadership and other stakeholders.

  • Develop relationships with key internal and external contacts in support of the business.

The above responsibilities, notwithstanding the final scope of the role, will be determined by the experience level of the candidate selected.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Marketing, Engineering, or another Business-related field required.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience required. Industry-related experience preferred.
