Job Description
Provide product support for Commercial Engine Control Programs in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Incumbent will support the Product Support Engineering Lead for assigned programs to include costing, scheduling, project management, technical authoring, and configuration management. Incumbent will work as team member supporting the preparation, maintenance and revision control of technical documentation. Incumbent will act as liaison between Product Support Engineering team and the Aftermarket and Production teams and act as the voice of the customer for all matters pertaining to product support. Responsible for responding to customer questions pertaining to our fielded product and its associated ground support equipment.
  • Evaluates Commercial Product Support Agreement (PSA) and Customer Support Agreement (CSA) requirements for ILS compliance and coordinates with functional interfaces.
  • Manages and reviews the development of technical manual development plans, materials development, verification and validations for programs supported.
  • Ensures that Engine Controls Engineering Change Requests (CRs) properly address the total Logistics impact.
  • Proactively leads the establishment and maintenance of good internal and external customer relations on assigned program(s) to position the program(s) to capture additional work for programs supported.
  • Implements the Company's philosophy of operation and associated policies and procedures for ILS design/support responsibility.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of ILS processes and assures compliance of company approved ISO-9001 quality management techniques, throughout assigned areas.
  • Develops and documents maintenance concepts and plans.

Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's Degree in a technical or scientific field or its equivalent
+3-5 years experience in logistics engineering or related engineering disciplines (i.e., reliability, maintainability, safety, field engineering and/or military technical field experience)
  • Proficiency with personal computers
  • Familiar with MS Office tools
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Ability to focus and thrive in an environment where attention to detail is critical
  • Fluency with engineering drawings, related change documentation, and configuration management
  • Familiarity with the commercial technical publications process and ATA specifications
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers
  • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents
  • Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule
  • Design and develop products and services using Logistics state-of-the-art technology, principles, theories and concepts.

Preferred Skills and Education
BSEE with +10 years experience in logistics engineering or related engineering disciplines (i.e., reliability, maintainability, safety, field engineering and/or military technical field experience).
Additional preferred experiences are:
  • Familiarity with BAE Systems test equipment or Commercial Electronics products
  • Familiarity with Arbortext authoring tool
  • Ability and availability to travel for short periods to other BAE Systems sites or to customer facilities
