Business Analyst III - D365 Manufacturing (D365 F&O)

The Business Analyst III will play a key role in owning, supporting, and improving Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) across our Mexico manufacturing and distribution organization. This role partners closely with Operations to monitor proper system usage, translate business needs into clear functional requirements, manage D365 configurations, and create measurable process improvements.
Reports To: IT Business Process Manager
Responsibilities:
Own and Improve Core Business Processes
  • Serve as the functional system owner of Planning, Scheduling, Purchasing, and Production Reporting for our Mexico Manufacturing D365 facilities.
  • Evaluate current-state processes, identify gaps, and lead improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and financial/internal controls. Document workflows/procedures to drive consistent execution.
  • Support day-to-day questions and issues; resolve functional process/setup problems and prioritize enhancements and fixes.
  • Work directly with the Business Process Manager and other Business Analysts to ensure that system standardization remains a core expectation across TOPS.
Partner with the Business
  • Facilitate workshops to gather requirements, validate solutions, and coordinate priorities/deliverables across the D365 IT team and business users.
  • Work closely with operations leaders and partner with other team Business Analysts and the Finance and Distribution teams.
  • Communicate business impact, risks, and trade-offs for proposed changes and process decisions.
Support Testing, Training, and Adoption
  • Lead functional testing and user acceptance activities, validating outcomes from a business perspective, including the creation of detailed test plans.
  • Create and maintain user documentation/process guides; support training and change management to drive adoption and consistent system usage.
Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business or manufacturing related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or functional ERP analyst with experience in implementation and support across multiple different companies, preferably with consulting implementation experience.
  • Must be by lingual in both Spanish and English.
  • Proven experience partnering with operations teams in a manufacturing and distribution environment.
  • Strong business communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into clear functional requirements.
  • Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps (or similar) to manage end-to-end delivery: write/refine user stories with acceptance criteria, manage change requests, track defects, and ensure traceability from requirement → configuration → test/UAT → release.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business process needs into D365 F&O functional design and configuration (e.g., parameters, master data, workflows/approvals, security roles, and manufacturing transactions) that improve cycle time, accuracy, and control.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-company ERP environments.
  • Familiarity with financial controls, audits, or compliance related requirements.
  • Ability to use data to validate outcomes and drive decisions (e.g., Excel/Power BI and ERP queries) by defining KPIs, monitoring adoption/exception trends, and quantifying benefits of process changes.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work on-site in Mexico (Matamoros/Valle Hermosa) 2-3 days per week, work at home other days; up to ~5% travel to other U.S. and Canada facilities.
