Job Summary: The Facility Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for MNTC properties and equipment including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, vehicle maintenance, and other building systems.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the housekeeping, maintenance, repair, and painting of all property owned by Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge, including buildings (interior and exterior), lawns, sidewalks, driveways, and vehicles.
  • Advise Maintenance Manager of need for major reconstruction projects and necessary building permits.
  • Assist in reviewing job orders to determine work priorities.
  • Assist in planning work schedules and estimating labor hour requirements for completion of each job assignment.
  • Assist in supervising the pickup and delivery of donated items when required.
  • Assist in maintaining complete and accurate records of all maintenance performed, including work requests, supplies purchased, building maintenance completed, and other records as needed.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Assist in ensuring that the necessary tools, equipment and supplies are readily available for client work details.
  • Assist in ensuring the safekeeping of all MNTC tools and equipment.
  • Inspect all power tools and equipment for conformance with safety and operational standards.
  • Assist in maintaining complete and accurate records of all maintenance performed, including work requests, supplies purchased, building maintenance completed, and other records as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to stand on feet for the majority of an 8 hour shift.
  • Able to climb ladders several times during a regular shift.
  • Able to walk, stand, stoop, and/or bend during the majority of a regular shift.
  • Able to lift and carry 50lbs.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record that will be accepted by this organization’s vehicle insurance carrier.
  • Ability to successfully complete background check process.
  • Work experience in general maintenance and/or construction with exposure to plowing, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, electrical, HVAC, vehicle maintenance and repair, etc.
  • Very well organized.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to remain on task and follow through projects to their completion.

Target Compensation (Negotiable based on Qualifications): $19 to $21 per hour
