Manufacturing & Development Engineer


Summary:

Work closely with engineers, production, customers, and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and improve products while supporting the demands of a high-volume production environment. Involvement in various stages of product development process, from concept through program launch and production improvements as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manufacturing Engineering:

  • Support existing business and production needs to include assisting Operations - including drawing and modeling, tool design, and process development
  • Confers with management, engineering, sales team, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, tooling requirements, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Develops strategies and programs to improve productivity and efficiency which drives continuous improvement to include but not limited to the areas of tooling floor management/control and production trials
  • Foster and lead employee teams (ties Operations Department to Engineering) to build cohesiveness and improve the overall results and effectiveness of manufacturing processes.
  • Manages Engineering Change system to ensure process is utilized efficiently to support production while meeting customer requirements.

Product Development:

  • Prototype planning, development, and launches
  • Process/Product Development trial management
  • Involvement in program launch to ensure timely and successful development which includes meeting production requirements, productivity goals, customer timelines, and financial goals of the organization
  • Deliver and participate in customer demonstrations of new products/processes as appropriate
  • Assists with developing engineering standards, key measurables tracking and reporting to management team
  • Assistance in brainstorming and developing new product concepts and improvements

Qualifications/Experience/Education:

  • Agree to NETFORM Employee Handbook
  • Pass pre-employment screening (e.g. drug test, physical, and background test)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred)
  • Experience in Cold-Forging and Cold Forging simulation software preferred
  • At least 5 years related experience in manufacturing and/or development engineering field
  • Internship/Co-Op experience in product development or related field
