Job description

Department:

Information Technology

Job Description:

The Workday Technology Lead is responsible for supporting and enabling the effective operation of the Workday platform, including alignment to enterprise governance, security, integrations, and production change processes. This role sits within IT and helps ensure Workday operates as a controlled and scalable platform, aligned to business needs and enterprise audit/compliance requirements.

This is not a traditional configuration role. The Technology Lead supports the execution and operationalization of how changes are managed, governed, and promoted to production, in alignment with enterprise standards, while partnering with Finance, HR, and other business teams who perform day-to-day configuration within defined guardrails.

At the same time, this role functions as a hands-on technical lead, contributing directly to complex and high-risk configuration scenarios where advanced expertise is required.

Work Arrangement:

  • Employees who live within 30 miles of the TMG home office are expected to follow a hybrid or in-office schedule. The initial training period may require additional inoffice days.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the application of the enterprise Workday governance framework, operating standards, and control structures in alignment with Governance and Security teams

  • Collaborate with Governance and Security teams on role design, access provisioning standards, and periodic access reviews, ensuring proper implementation within Workday

  • Participate in segregation of duties (SoD), audit controls, and compliance processes, providing platform expertise and supporting artifacts as needed

  • Support the application of configuration standards (e.g., high vs. low risk) in alignment with enterprise governance guidelines

  • Participate in complex or high-risk configuration changes, particularly those requiring advanced technical expertise or specialized tools not supported under the Workday Success Plan

  • Perform and support configuration activities for complex or high-risk scenarios, providing hands-on expertise where advanced technical knowledge is required

  • Review and provide guidance on configuration changes implemented by business teams to ensure alignment with established standards and platform capabilities

  • Operate within the enterprise IT change management process; support the management of high-risk configuration migrations using Object Transporter and similar tools

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance for complex or high-risk configuration changes

  • Apply standards for when Object Transporter or other migration tools are used versus manual promotion, in alignment with IT practices

  • Support Workday semi-annual releases by performing impact assessments and coordinating activities with business teams, with HR and Finance responsible for business validation and UAT

  • Support and maintain Workday integrations with external systems, including Accounting Center and other downstream platforms, under IT leadership direction

  • Partner with integration teams to ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and data governance principles

  • Evaluate when to leverage external partners versus internal capabilities for integration and platform support

  • Support platform stability, performance, and ongoing improvement efforts

  • Partner with Finance, HR, and other stakeholders to align priorities, roadmap inputs, and operating model execution

  • Help drive clarity on roles and responsibilities between IT, business teams, and governance functions

  • Provide guidance and support to configuration analysts and business users

  • Act as a key participant in new member onboarding and large-scale transformation initiatives, working alongside external vendors to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and long-term supportability

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Workday Financials and/or HCM, including core business processes

  • Hands-on experience with Workday security, business process framework (BPF), and integrations

  • Experience supporting enterprise SaaS platforms within established governance and control environments

  • Experience with change management, release management, and production support processes

  • Familiarity with audit, compliance, and segregation of duties (SoD) concepts

  • Experience supporting Workday integrations and external system connectivity

  • Ability to operate as a hands-on technical lead, balancing direct contribution with cross-functional collaboration

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across IT, business, and governance stakeholders

  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models preferred

Pay Range:

Anticipated Hiring Range:

$105,000 - $130,000 annual base salary depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location

Benefits:
