Job Title: TMA Driver

Status: Permanent/Seasonal role

About the Position

Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) Drivers are responsible for driving barrel and attenuator trucks (30’-40’ length) during lane closure setup and tear down as well as rolling slowdown closures. TMA drivers are also responsible for assisting with the setup and maintenance of safe work zones, including lane closures, signage, barricades, cones, and delineators. This role supports traffic control operations by helping regulate traffic movement, protecting road crews and the public, and maintaining a secure work zone environment.

TMA drivers work closely with supervisors and traffic control laborers to coordinate site setup and teardown through constant radio and visual communication. They are also responsible for monitoring safety conditions, warning workers of errant vehicles or hazards, and reporting motorists who fail to follow traffic control devices. TMA drivers are responsible for conducting pre and post trip inspections, load securement checks and vehicle safety documentation.

This position is permanent or seasonal. Hours are not guaranteed. Peak hours occur during the summer construction season, during this time employees must be available for both day and night shifts based on project needs. This position is outdoors and subject to working in hot, cold, windy, rainy, and dark conditions, and may be close to home or far from home depending on project location. We have a combination of private pay and prevailing work consistent with State and Federal wage and labor laws.

Must be insurable with a clean driving record and able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks. This company conducts random, cause, and post accident testing.

Qualifications

  • A valid drivers license with acceptable MVR abstract is required.
  • As this is a safety-sensitive position, all employees must undergo and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. *This includes the use of marijuana, medical or non. Any drug use is strictly prohibited.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds throughout shift duration.
  • Experience in either Traffic Control or road work Construction industries
  • Valid WA/OR or ID flaggers card
