Job Ad: Title Insurance Policy Issuing Agent (Virginia)Position Summary

Reston Virginia firm is seeking a Title Insurance Policy Issuing Agent to support our real estate practice by reviewing title evidence, preparing title insurance commitments, and issuing policies in accordance with applicable underwriting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

·        Analyze residential and commercial real estate title searches and related documentation.

·        Prepare and issue title insurance commitments, endorsements, and title insurance policies.

·        Identify and communicate title exceptions, requirements, and curative items; coordinate resolution with internal teams and third parties.

·        Prepare and review closing/title documentation as needed to support issuance.

·        Maintain complete issuance files and ensure policy production is timely, accurate, and compliant with insurer and office procedures.

·        Communicate professionally with lenders, real estate agents, underwriters, attorneys, and clients.

Required Qualifications

·        Active license in Virginia, Maryland, and/or the District of Columbia (candidates licensed in one or more jurisdictions are encouraged to apply).

·        Demonstrated experience analyzing real estate title evidence and producing commitments and title insurance policies.

·        Working knowledge of common title issues (easements, liens, judgments, restrictive covenants, plats, boundary matters, HOA/condo documents, and underwriting requirements).

·        Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

·        Proficiency with standard office technology and willingness to learn firm/underwriter systems.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Prior experience in a law firm, title company, or settlement environment serving Virginia and/or the DC/MD region.

·        Familiarity with policy forms, endorsements, and basic title curative workflows.
